We are gathering information for 2026-27 choir students and I need your help by filling out this form as soon as possible.THIS IS A NEW FORM - DIFFERENT THAN THE PREVIOUS INTEREST FORM. Even if you are not auditioning, please fill out the form. There is a place to tell me if you don't want to audition and you just want to sing.
We are starting choir auditions with a few kids on Sunday March 15, more on Monday March 16, and then everyone else the following week during class, or after school on March 25.
I will be sending out callback music next Thursday to give you a full week to prepare. In order to get the callback music, and additional audition information PLEASE complete the form linked above.
Here is the audition information just in case you didn't see it earlier. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns. I want this to be a positive experience. I want to make choir a happy place for you!
Auditions are on March 25th from 4:00 - 6:00 for new students. We will do them during class if you are currently in oe of my MVHS Choirs. I am also offering an alternate date for choir auditions for those who can not attend on March 25. There will be an audition on March 16, from 6:00 - 7:30pm. Please plan on attending the whole time. This will be held in the Choir Room which is behind the theatre at MVHS. 3535 Truman Ave, Mountain View, CA 94040
The audition has 3 parts:
1. Sing a solo of your choice.
30sec - 1 minute in length - unaccompanied
this can be absolutely any style, or any language.
2. Sing a C Major scale and intervals up and down
3. Learn a new song at the audition and then sing holding their part.
Here is a link to a folder for the parts they can prepare in advance for, and an example of the part singing so they will know what to expect.. If you are a new student, The song will be taught on the spot and I try to make it fun and not scary. If you are currently in MVHS Choir you will part sing using Power Of Kindness.
